What we do

The EKMGA organises the Province’s two golf championships:-

  • The Geoffrey Gordon Dearing Bowl, and

  • The William Blay Trophy

We arrange annual challenge matches against neighbouring Provinces:-  West Kent, Essex, Sussex, Surrey and Metropolitan.

We represent the Province in The South of England Masonic Provinces Golf Championship:  The Beauchamp Trophy and many other events as well.

The Geoffrey Gordon Dearing Bowl is an individual stableford competition, the winner of which has the honour of being the champion golfer in the Province. The championship was introduced in 2011 to mark the formation of the EKMGA. The championship and winner’s trophy is named in honour of Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro Geoffrey Gordon Dearing, who is himself a keen golfer. This coming year’s Championship will be held on Friday 28th June 2019 at Broome Park  Golf Club as part of the East Kent Provincial Golf Day. To book your place click here.

The William Blay Trophy is a stableford tournament for teams of four players representing either their lodge or chapter. There is no restriction on the number of teams a lodge or chapter can enter. The trophy, presented by and named after the then Deputy Provincial Grand Master, VW Bro William Blay, was first contested in 1937. This year’s tournament will be held on 28th June at Broome Park Golf Club as part of the East Kent Provincial Golf Day. To book your place click here.

Representative matches against neighbouring Provinces, including participation in the South of England Masonic Provinces Championship for the Beauchamp Trophy, provide good competitive fun with friendly rivalry and enduring friendships.
